Celebrity lineup for Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational In Las Vegas grows

The 10th annual Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational golf tournament is slated for March 31-April 3 at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas, Nev.

Among the celebrities scheduled to play incluce Drew Brees, Jerome Bettis, Sam Bradford and Marcus Allen from pro football, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux (hockey), John Smoltz and Ken Griffey Jr (baseball) and Boris Becker (tennis).

They will be joined at Shadow Creek by Spike Lee, Don Cheadle and Shannon Elizabeth. Shadow Creek is one of the country’s most exclusive golf courses, which will open its doors to the public for the first time.

Proceeds from the charitable tournament will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Nevada Cancer Institute, James R. Jordan Foundation and Cats Care, the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats’ charity arm. Jordan, a NBA Hall of Famer, owns the Hornets.

Since its inception in 2001, MJCI has raised more than $5 million for charity.

The Celebrity-Amateur tournament pairs one celebrity with four amateur participants. The MJCI two-person, 36-hole scramble format tournament, including only competing celebrities, will take place Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3.

Tickets are $25 Thursday and Friday for a daily general admission pass and $50 Saturday and Sunday The weekly general admission and daily VIP pass is $100 Thursday through Sunday.Weekly VIP passes are going for $300 for the entire four days.

VIP spectators will enjoy an unparalleled view of the course from the M life VIP Hospitality complex, an open-air venue featuring a "VIP Party Deck" overlooking the par-5, 18th hole.
