Interesting Stage in this Edition of Europa League

Oct 21, 2015 1:00 PM

It's time to put an end to my hiatus. Honestly, can you really blame me for getting caught up in all of these college football and  NFL games? It's been 8 weeks too long though and it's time to get back to work.

In case you haven't noticed we're in the stage of European Football where everything is in chaos. There's domestic league schedules, international qualifiers and continental tournaments. I'm definitely not one to complain though, especially since Chelsea FC is doing quite well in group play in the Champions League. (Please don’t remind me of how they're doing in the Premier League, Thanks.)

Let's get to the important stuff. Since I haven't released anything in a while (don't know if that’s a good or bad thing) I will be writing two articles this week just to get the cobwebs out. This one will just be about a couple of Europa League games for Thursday October 22; the next one will be for Saturday's EPL games which will go up later in the week.

Thursday, October 22

Borussia Dortmund (-2.0 -110) vs. Qabala FK: Dortmund have been in amazing form this season in the Bundesliga, most recently coming out on top in their derby match against rival Bayern Munich 2-0. That hasn't been the case in the Europa League. They currently sit with 1 win and 1 draw. I see them taking no mercy on their Azerbaijani opponent tomorrow as they look to cement their position atop their group. Borussia Dortmund 4 Qabala FK 1

FK Rubin Kazan vs. Liverpool (Over 2.5 -105): Neither of these teams have been performing paricularly well up to this point in this tournament. On that note, it's still early and a win for either team could possibly propel them to atop of their group. Look for both teams to try and push the tempo therefore creating plenty of goal-scoring opportunities. FK Rubin Kazan 2 Liverpool 3
