Never would I have guessed that some BCS officials disguised as GamingToday personnel would sabotage my original take last week on how to straighten out the college football title system.
With all the bugs exterminated (we think) let’s forge ahead.
”¡ Maintain the status quo for the smaller bowls. It gives us games to bet.
”¡ Keep the BCS poll. It makes for good talk radio. Controversy never hurts.
”¡ Use the BCS bowls (Rose, Orange, Sugar, Fiesta) for a playoff system. No. 1 would meet No. 8, followed by 2 vs 7, 3-6 and 4-5.
”¡ The winners meet Monday and Tuesday night of the following week. The national title game would be held the Sunday between the NFC/AFC championships and the Super Bowl.
