EDITORS NOTE: Each week GamingToday will feature some helpful hints and angles from the top sports book managers in the industry. This week: Bill Fogg, Flamingo Hilton Laughlin.

If you’re like my dad and enjoy playing "over/unders" in the NFL, Bill Fogg has just the right formula to help ease the pain.

"Don’t tout individual games," Fogg said. "If it’s a smaller bettor trying to play a lot of teams (seven, eight, nine or 10), I suggest throwing an ”˜over/under’ on the same game. In other words if you were going to play Kansas City, then bet the Chiefs/over. If you play Baltimore, bet the Ravens/under."

Fogg believes that betting the side and total is especially effective when dealing with a good defensive team.

"I you play an eight-teamer, you only have to be right on four of the games," he said. "It’s pretty hard to go 12-0 in the NFL. Too many upsets. You never know when a QB or RB will get hurt in a game. Like the Bears losing Rex Grossman."

Fogg, who admits to being a lifelong Chicago fan, said he would take an underdog when looking to bet an NFL game.
