‘Elektra-fied’ at Palms premiere

The Palms was ”˜Elektra-fied’ on Saturday as film star Jennifer Garner jolted a world premier screening of her new movie, "Elektra," at the Palms.

Besides hosting the event, the Palms customized its blackjack tables with "Elektra" felt tabletops, transformed its Rain Nightclub into an Elektra-themed hotspot and issued limited edition $10 Elektra gaming chips.

The festivities started with Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman proclaiming Saturday Elektra Day.

After her red-carpet arrival, Garner ignited a massive, 30-foot tall Elektra billboard that erupted with fireworks and flashing lights.

Many of her co-stars from the movie also attended the gala, including Goran Visnjic, Will Yun Lee, Kirsten Prout, Natassia Malthe, Bob Sapp and director Rob Bowman.

The 20th Century Fox production begins its regular citywide run on Friday. — David Stratton
