Fill up on great dogs at Gold Coast

If you’re down to your last six bits (75¡ to the uninitiated), you won’t starve at the Gold Coast, where a cart vendor serves roasted hot dogs with kraut, onions, mustard or relish.

The cart is adjacent to the sports book and operates from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

You can’t get any cheaper than free, and the Wild Wild West offers free $500 video poker tournaments every Wednesday, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. If you’re unlucky at the machines, try the free $500 blackjack tournaments also on Wednesdays at the same time.

The Wildfire Casinos is serving a $1.99 Triple Play breakfast specials from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m. There’s also a $2.49 half-pound burger and fries special served 24/7. If you work in the gaming industry, you’re entitled to 49¡ specials from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

"Sam’s Town Live!" inside Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino is the place to be on Monday nights for the taping of the Las Vegas Gladiators TV show. The live tapings are free and will feature a party atmosphere similar to any football party. The first Budweiser and hot dog are free for all guests. There will also be weekly prize giveaways plus the grand prize to be given away at the end of the season — a Big Dog Mastiff Custom Motorcycle, valued at over $25,000. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

"Mystere" at TI (Treasure Island) is offering a special appreciation package for Las Vegas locals. Buy two tickets and you also get dinner for two at the new upscale buffet, Dishes, plus access to the VIP viewing area for the free Sirens show outside. Tickets are $95 each and must be purchased directly from the box office by calling 702-894-7722. You must present a valid Nevada ID when you pick up the tickets. This offer is valid through March 12.

Here’s another great bargain. Magic Star Casino in Henderson has a true Vegas breakfast value ”” try the 99-cent breakfast special anytime which includes two eggs served any style with two strips of bacon or two link sausages plus toast and jelly.

Another excellent value can be found this month at Nevada Palace, where Player’s Circle club members can enjoy a $4.99 shrimp dinner in the Boulder Café. Show your club card to the server and ask for the special. Of course, club membership is free.

Finally, the Santa Fe Station Showroom is now open and is offering free entertainment!

Every Wednesday dance to the sounds of local favorite Jerry Tiffe from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and there are free comedy shows on Thursdays.
