The high-stakes action of the World Series of Poker Circuit continues this month in Southern California at Harrah’s Rincon Casino & Resort.

Last month the WSOP Circuit got under way at Harrah’s Atlantic City. The Circuit will include poker tournaments at Harrah’s properties across the country.

Players participating in the tournaments earn points toward the Circuit’s grand finale, the World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions, which will be held in Las Vegas.

A $2 million, winner take all free-roll event consisting of the top 20 finishers at each Circuit event, as well as the nine players who make the final table of the Tournament of Champions will be played in September.

A free-roll event is one in which there is no buy-in; the players aren’t required to put up any of their own money to enter and compete in the tournament.

Upcoming Circuit tourneys will be held at the Rio in Las Vegas (March 20), Harvey’s at Lake Tahoe (May 8) and Harrah’s in New Orleans (May 28).

"The World Series of Poker is without question the single most prestigious gambling event anywhere, and we’re thrilled to bring all the excitement of the tournament to Harrah’s Rincon," said Janet Beronio, senior vice president and general manager of Harrah’s Rincon. "No serious poker player can afford to miss this event and the chance to earn points toward the $2 million free-roll in the fall."

ESPN will broadcast the championship event of all Circuit tourneys, including the one at Harrah’s Rincon, which starts on Feb. 27.

As an added bonus, Harrah’s Rincon on Feb. 26 will host a free, open to the public "Head’s up interview with a poker champion with a poker superstar. The debut of "heads up" will feature poker legend Doyle "Texas Dolly" Brunson. The program is scheduled to run from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the casino’s Oasis Lounge.

The 36th annual World Series of Poker will begin June 2 at the Rio, which will host all but the final two days of the tournament. The event’s final two days, July 14-15, will be played at the Horseshoe in downtown Las Vegas, there the tournament began.
