Downtown Las Vegas has a new bingo room! Barrick Gaming has rebuilt the bingo room at the Western Hotel and Casino, which now offers five daily sessions beginning at 10 a.m. Supervisors Janet Roberts and Cathy Taylor, formerly of the Showboat/Castaways, are the new hosts and promise an exciting bingo format and special promotions, too. The new room opened on March 1.

The Western’s sister casino, the Plaza, is gearing up for a huge bingo weekend scheduled for May 22-24. The Plaza’s $125,000 Super Bingo has become one of Las Vegas’ biggest bingo events and is usually held twice a year. Forty games of bingo are played over two days with jackpot payouts ranging from $2,000 to $20,000 per game. A bingo entry is $185 and includes both sessions of Super Bingo, two $10 dining certificates, two daubers and a special gift.

St. Patrick’s Day is a big day for bingo specials and giveaways. On Thursday, March 17, the Gold Coast and Suncoast casinos will be giving away "Pennies from Heaven" shamrock piggy banks at the 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. sessions.

Boulder Station has a unique giveaway in honor of the holiday. Celebrating early on Saturday, March 13, the bingo room is offering "I Love Bingo" license plate frames at all sessions with a minimum $4 buy-in.

Collectable teddy bears are always a popular gift giveaway at Terrible’s Hotel Casino. Pick up a spring golfing bear on the St. Pat’s Day holiday available at all sessions with a minimum buy-in, while supplies last.

Wear green to the sessions at Arizona Charlie’s Boulder on St. Patrick’s Day and receive a $4 bingo discount on your buy-in. At Arizona Charlie’s Decatur, the gift will be a Leprechaun dauber on the lucky Irish holiday.

Santa Fe Station and Poker Palace are also giving away character daubers on St. Paddy’s Day.

Sam’s Town is giving away miniature radio pens today, March 8, and mystery gifts will be given away to all players on March 17.

As a reminder, all bingo gift giveaways are available at all sessions (unless noted otherwise) to players who purchase a minimum bingo buy-in ($3-4 in most casinos) and are limited to quantities on hand. Play early in the day to guarantee yourself a gift.
