Saturday, Dec. 9

NBA -- SAN ANTONIO 99, Chicago 73: Chicago's smallish frontline will have trouble dealing with San Antonio frontliners Duncan & Robinson. Young Bulls played last night. Their -13 point differential is worst in NBA. Spurs crushed Chicago twice last season.

Sunday, Dec. 10

NFL -- OAKLAND 27, N.Y. Jets 17: Denver wins at home vs. Seattle earlier in day, Raiders will have to win this game to stay in first place in the AFC West. So look for Oakland players to finally heed the words of team leader QB Gannon (who criticized some of his teammates after their 41-14 win two weeks ago over Atlanta) and prepare and play with more discipline. Gannon’s mobility, combined with his receivers’ speed, will be a major problem for a Jets secondary that doesn’t have so much. Raiders 8-2 vs. spread last 10 after a loss and 8-2 vs. spread last 10 games overall TY. Rowdy Oakland fans back in force these days. Heidi lives!!!

Monday, Dec. 11

NFL -- INDIANAPOLIS 27, Buffalo 24: Don’t know if Indy defense has enough might these days to put away a hard-trying opponent. And expect Buffalo to be such after its terrible showing week ago (8 of 27 passing vs. Miami). Big & speedy RB Bryson had 88 YR in 12 carries vs. Dolphins and should provide Buffalo QBs with a strong enough ground thrust vs. soft Colt defense to open things up for star WR Moulds and improving teammate Price. (He’s not "peerless" yet). Yes, Bills injured on defense, but new starters have talent. "Practically Perfect" Peyton forcing things of late (4 ints. last 3 games; most in red zone). Elimination game in "Loser’s Bracket" in AFC East race.
