As we predicted in earlier reports, the Plaza Hotel and Casino’s $125,000 Super Bingo scheduled for May 22-24 has already sold out. The next scheduled Super Bingo will take place August 14-16.

With cash prizes ranging from $2,000 to $20,000 Super Bingo is a must-attend event for serious bingo players. The last seat for the May Super Bingo was sold on March 17, more than two months before the first number will be pulled. The event has grown so large it now takes place in the 29,000-square-foot Triple Crown Ballroom. New Yorker Kathleen Hurrell was the solo winner of the $20,000 grand prize during the January Super Bingo.

"We have people from all over the country that love Super Bingo," said Bobby Taylor, bingo room manager for both the Plaza and Western bingo rooms. "We are surprised by how quickly the upcoming Super Bingo sold out, but it just goes to show the early bird catches the worm, and in this case that worm could be worth $20,000."

The Plaza offers great packages for both tourists and locals who want to participate in Super Bingo. For those who don’t need a hotel room there is the bingo only entry. For $185 players get a seat in both sessions of Super Bingo, two $10 dining certificates, two Super Bingo daubers and a Super Bingo gift.

The hotel and bingo package is only $199 and offers a three-night stay in a double occupancy room, entry into both Super Bingo sessions, a $50 dining certificate for either the Great Moments Lounge and fine dining or the Center Stage lounge and fine dining, two $10 dining certificates, two Super Bingo daubers and a Super Bingo gift. Guests who would like to stay longer are offered rooms at a discounted rate.

Registration for the August Super Bingo will open on June 6. For more information about Super Bingo call 1-866-768-7032.

In March, Barrick Gaming opened a new bingo room at the Western Hotel and Casino. The new room offers five sessions per day and features the Super $100,000 Bonanza game in addition to various promotions and giveaways.

While the New Frontier currently remains the only Strip casino to offer bingo, some rumors are flying that Wynn Las Vegas could possibly offer bingo. Seems highly unlikely, but stranger things have happened. Guess we’ll all find out later this week when Wynn opens its doors and many of the "tight-lipped" secrets will finally be revealed.

April is Match Play Month at Santa Fe Station. Buy four packs of the same level in electronics and receive four packs of the same level free or you may buy eight packs and get eight packs free. An additional $4 validates all electronic packs for inclusion in the progressives. Santa Fe plays sessions on the odd hour starting at 9 a.m. For more information call 702-658-4900.

As a reminder, all bingo promotions are subject to change. Gift giveaways are available at all sessions (unless noted otherwise) to players who purchase a minimum bingo buy-in ($3-4 in most casinos) and are limited to quantities on hand. Play early in the day to guarantee yourself a gift.
