Golata line was bad Polish joke

Even the books are entitled to mess up a betting line. Badly

When first seeing -240 on the board in favor of Andrew Galota, my first reaction (after the shock wore off) was to mortgage the home.

The human "Foul Pole," as GT’s own Michael Katz cleverly dubbed Golata years ago for his infrequent visits to the groin area, was worth betting $20 of my hard earned cash AGAINST. It took Lamon Brewster 53 seconds to retain one of the 100 heavyweight titles. As for Golata, I heard that NBC’s The Contender show even turned him down for Tuesday night’s finale at Caesars Palace. -240! All smiles here! — Mark Mayer
