Hilton pool parties are red hot affairs

"Tropical Heat" pool parties began last Wednesday at the Las Vegas Hilton and will continue throughout the summer. Every Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., the parties take place on third floor pool deck. The $15 admission for men and $10 for women includes: a Baccardi Hurricane, Coors Light, or Tecate, plus complimentary appetizers. On Sundays, "South Beach Parties" are held from noon until 8 p.m. The cover charge ($20 for men/ $15 for women) also includes the Wednesday drink offers and more complimentary appetizers and snacks. Live DJ’s or bands perform during both party events and open auditions are held for NBC’s hit show, "Fear Factor."

On a side note, comedian David Brenner, who performs at the Las Vegas Hilton, is giving away a 2-for-1 show ticket voucher for his show through June 16 with a blood donation. Make an appointment to give blood at 702-233-9620 and reward yourself with tickets to see the original "Stand-Up Guy."

Here’s one we’ve never seen before. Always innovative, Ellis Island Casino & Brewery is offering Wynn Las Vegas employees free drinks 24/7 during the month of June as a way of saying "Congratulations on a beautiful opening!" Just show your Wynn ID at the bar. For everyone else, $1 well drinks and EIB handcrafted beer are available 24/7.

This weekend will feature classic cars under the Fremont Street Experience canopy of lights. Classic cars come to vintage Vegas for a Centennial Cruise, June 3-5. The Fremont Street Experience’s annual car show and party weekend features free concerts from The Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards on the Third Street stage and Bobby Vee playing on the First Street stage on Saturday, June 4. Opening bands start at 6 p.m. The concerts are free and open to the public.
