Cirque to tap Curry puppets

The date for the next Cirque show in town is May 2006 — that’s when the Beatle music-themed adventure will debut at The Mirage. The focus will be on the Beatles’ music with their songs coming to life via Michael Curry puppets.

Orleans regular Neil Sedaka is telling friends that a Broadway production based on his music, life and times is in the works.

A top-notch lineup of singers has been signed for the "2005 Stars on the Lake" concert series at Lake Las Vegas Resort. The Eagles’ Glenn Fry launches the performances on the resort’s 4,000-square-foot floating stage July 8 followed by Natalie Cole July 30, Michael Bolton Aug. 6, Kenny G Sept. 9, and Vanessa Williams and the Las Vegas Philharmonic Sept. 23.

Steven Segal wants to follow in Bruce Willis’ footsteps and become the latest actor to become a local headliner. Steven has a band and singer and, I hear, an album. The "shopping" process has begun, but with no takers.

Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza is unveiling a contemporary dining experience with the debut of new menu items and decor at its Sahara Avenue location. The pizzas, salads and Giant Messy Sundae at the core of the menu remain intact, but in keeping with changing tastes and times, Sammy’s will add 23 new selections, mostly tapas dishes.
