Keno players at the California and Fremont hotel casinos downtown have a new way to become millionaires. Both properties have introduced "Million Dollar Ticket," a progressive 10-spot with a jackpot starting at $1 million.
For just one dollar, players can opt to select their own 10 numbers, by whatever method they feel is lucky, or elect to go with a "Quick Pick," in which the computer will randomly select their numbers for them.
Up to 1,000 games can be played at one time, and new numbers are drawn every 10 minutes. For each game, 20 balls are selected from 80 numbered balls. Should a player catch 10 out of 10 numbers correctly to win, the lucky winner will be paid in one lump sum, and have up to one year to collect. Winning tickets must be redeemed at the issuing casino.
Additionally, the California has added the popular "Nevada Numbers" with a progressive jackpot starting at $5 million. With a $2 wager, pick five numbers and hit all five to win. Up to 50 games can be played at once with the winner having up to one year to collect. Nevada Numbers is also available at the Fremont.
To prove that lightning can strike, the Fremont has awarded two $1 million keno jackpots on previous keno promotions.
