Colorado slots among nation’s highest paying

The slot machines in Colorado are among the nation’s highest paying, according to a report from the American Casino Guide.

Taken as a group, all of Colorado’s slot machines returned more than 94 percent of the handle to players.

By comparison, slots in Connecticut returned on average 91.83 percent, those in Atlantic City averaged about 92 percent, while slots on the famed Las Vegas Strip returned 93.55 percent

Slots in downtown Las Vegas returned 94.25 percent, while slots in "neighborhood" casinos such as Palace Station and the Gold Coast, returned more than 95 percent to players.

The highest paying Colorado machines are $1 slots, with returns posted between 95.3 percent and 95.58 percent.

Penny slots were the lowest with returns from 91-92 percent.

The returns for Black Hawk, Central City and Cripple Creek were virtually identical.
