A 38-year-old Tampa, Fla., man turned a $40 "investment" into a $1,104,931 slot jackpot on a Wheel of Fortune® quarter machine June 24 at the Ellis Island Casino and Brewery in Las Vegas.

William Orihuela said he decided to try his luck on the Wheel of Fortune® machine because his wife always plays it. He won the huge jackpot while on vacation with his wife, mother, father, brother and brother’s wife.

"This is unbelievable," said Orihuela. "I can’t put into words how it felt or what it means (to win a million dollars)." He said he’ll use his winnings for his son’s education and to invest for his own retirement.

Wheel of Fortune® slot jackpots are paid in annual installments upon verification. MegaJackpots℡ systems were developed and are maintained by IGT (www.IGT.com), a global company specializing in the design, development, manufacturing, distribution and sales of computerized gaming machines and systems products.
