GVR opens poker room

Casinos in Las Vegas continue to meet the unabated demands of poker players. Green Valley Ranch Station opens a new poker room this week, while the Las Vegas Hilton prepares to open a new poker room as well.

At Green Valley Ranch, the new smoke-free poker room opens Tuesday with 11 tables and an array of upscale appointments, such as a full bar, hand-blown light fixtures, decorative ceilings and 28 TV screens.

The room will be open around the clock and offer all the popular games.

The poker room will also offer an in-house progressive jackpot, and will be part of Station’s casino-wide Jumbo Poker Bad Beat Progressive, which last week stood at a whopping $219,000.

Coast’s Buddy Wheel

In other poker news around the valley, the Gold Coast is holding Poker Appreciation Days II, from Thursday through Tuesday (Aug. 23), when players can win chances to spin the Buddy Wheel for cash prizes of up to $500.

Palms bonus payouts

Besides the chance to play some great poker, players at the Palms poker room have a chance to win extra cash.

In its Diamonds are Forever giveaway, the Palms offers free cash drawings every night. Simply play with a Club Palms card and anyone making a diamond flush will be entered to win $200 The promotion is good through Sept. 30. In addition, poker players can win additional cash on Sunday and Monday nights in the Palms Rack’em and Stack’em giveaway.
