In the wake of the devastation caused by hurricane Katrina, Station Casinos has joined with Wheels of Hope to bring relief to a temporary animal shelter that has been set up for the pets of the victims of Katrina in Slidell, Louisiana.

Station officials urge the community to contribute to the relief effort in any way they can. Displaced refugees will find some comfort in having their pets returned to them alive, safe and healthy.

People are urged to drop off relief supplies at Santa Fe Station (Rancho Road at I-95). Wheels of Hope urges anyone in the community who might have cash or other donations to drop them off until the truck is filled.

Gift cards in any denomination to the major retailers like Petsmart, Home Depot, Wal Mart, Lowe’s etc. is the preferred donation to enable volunteers in the field to buy items they need at the moment.
