Coming off its biggest exhibition ever, Global Gaming Expo (G2E) is expecting a larger and more expansive show than ever before.

Organizers for the gaming industry’s premier trade exhibition and conference report that floor space at the Las Vegas Convention Center is well ahead of last year.

More than 700 industry vendors, including 100 international companies from 23 countries, will showcase their product and services in 255,000 square feet of space.

Last year’s G2E occupied 250,000 square feet, and the inaugural G2E in 2001 had 133,000 square feet of exhibit hall space.

"As our industry continues to evolve, as the number of gaming and entertainment facilities worldwide continues to grow, and as gaming technology continues to advance, the need for a forum like G2E for buying, education and overall gaming industry networking is critical," said Frank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr., president and CEO of the American Gaming Association, a co-sponsor of G2E

Attendance figures for G2E have been climbing every year since its inception. Last year, a record-setting 26,000 industry professionals attended the three-day expo. This year, the number of conventioneers could top 28,000.

Also setting all-time records were the number of international exhibitors (123), the number of countries represented (26) and the number of conference sessions (140).

G2E is a joint venture of the American Gaming Association and Reed Exhibitions, and is held at the Las Vegas Convention Center each year. It was formed in 2001 from the merger of two gaming trade shows, the original Global Gaming Expo and the World Gaming Congress.

"This show is successful because G2E organizers involve buyers and sellers, U.S. and international interests, and all parties involved in the gaming industry with the planning of the show," said a spokesman for Reed Exhibitions. "G2E is the place to network with the industry and have a chance to see, test and purchase the industry’s leading products. For manufacturers and other exhibitors, the show has delivered on its promise to attract the purchasing decision makers. If you’re only going to go to one industry show, it would have to be G2E."

The attendee profile at G2E typically includes thousands of senior-level purchasing executives from the world’s largest and most influential gaming companies.

"Strong attendance, the quality of the conference, and new product availability clearly indicate the industry’s satisfaction with and support of our event," says the Reed spokesperson. "We look forward to continuing to deliver a stellar event for the industry for the fourth year in a row."
