Monday Night Football (MNF) is huge among fans, and the casinos try to enhance the event with parties and promos.

Santa Fe Station’s MNF parties are hosted by Ballpark Frank from Fox Sports Radio 1460. The games are shown on giant TV screens. Your first Bud Draft is free, and after that they’re only $1 each. There are plenty of drawings to be won and lots of good food and drink specials.

Downtown at Binion’s Gambling Hall, MNF parties are held in the former buffet area upstairs on the second floor. The $10 admission includes two beers or soft drinks, a hot dog and a drawing ticket for prizes that include a Super Bowl party for 20 in a suite, official NFL team merchandise, football logo shirts, and prizes from Budweiser sponsors. Cheerleaders will be on hand and draft beer is just 97 cents during the games.

Strip casinos like the Imperial Palace and Tropicana are also running some game day specials. The Imperial Palace is hosting Sunday football viewing parties in the Imperial Theater, where the games are shown on big screen televisions and patrons enjoy door prize drawings, stadium-style food and beverage service.

At the Tropicana, get a 64-ounce souvenir football mug filled with draft beer or a signature cocktail for $13 during all games in the Celebration Lounge. Refills are just $10 and you keep the mug. On a side note, the Trop still passes out a set of good coupons when you play the free pull machine located outside the front entrance to the casino.

Get a one-topping pizza and pitcher of beer during any major sporting event (including all football games) for only $9.99 at Wildfire Casino.

In other news, Pete & Shorty’s has opened inside the Hotel San Remo (which will evolve into Hooter’s Casino after the first of the year). The joint features a two-for-one happy hour (they call it Shorty hour) daily from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The menu includes exclusive "Shorty Burgers" for $1.50 with a half dozen of the popular sliders (bite-sized burgers) for $7.49 or a full dozen for $14.99. They also feature a daily menu special like the Sunday chicken dinner plate for $10. Other daily specials start at $7.50 for sandwiches and run to $13 for Saturday steak night.

Until next time, eat well, play well, stay well.
