The Pechanga Resort & Casino in Southern California crowned its first ever ladies poker champion.

On October 13, the Pechanga Poker Room held its inaugural Ladies’ Only No Limit Hold ”˜Em Tournament, which attracted a bevy of eager poker-faced ladies who hoped to beat out their competitors for a chance at the prize pool and the $1,000 seat to the Ladies’ Only Tournament during the 2006 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

When the dust cleared, Linda Trubee from Temecula emerged victorious and won the top share of the prize pool — $3,185.00, plus her very own seat in the World Series of Poker Ladies’ Tournament.

The Pechanga poker room now presents the Ladies’ Only No Limit Hold ”˜Em tournaments regularly on the second Thursday of each month.

The tournament requires a $100 buy-in and the first place player wins a $1,000 guaranteed buy-in seat to the ladies’ event at the 2006 WSOP.

The winner also keeps her winnings from the tournament. For more information about the ladies only poker tourney, check out the casino’s web site at
