Cruising for bargain-priced nightlife

Put a little "silver" in your nightlife starting with the Silverton Casino Lodge. The casino is offering $1 drinks at all bars and lounges all month. Silverton is also hosting Monday Night Football (MNF) parties inside the new Hootie & the Blowfish’s Shady Grove Lounge.

There will also be radio sports DJ’s on hand to discuss the Monday night game, as well as give away prizes to guests and listeners. During the game, the bars will serve 20 oz. Bud and Bud Light drafts for $1 and two hot dogs for $2. Regular happy hour specials from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. include $1 domestic drafts, $2 premium drafts, $2 kamikaze shots, half-price appetizers and free games of pool.

Continue your silver quest at the Silver Nugget in North Las Vegas where you can feast on all-you-can-eat barbecue ribs for $9.95, complete with all the fixings.

On the Strip, all guests visiting Penny Town at the Riviera between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday can receive a free Margarita, draft beer, soda or popcorn. Hound Doggie’s Snack Bar also serves a 99-cent menu all day.

The Palms has opened the new 24/Seven Café which replaces the former Sunrise Café. As the name indicates, the new café is open 24 hours and serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night dining. The café menu features a wide variety of dishes including entrees and generously portioned salads, certified Black Angus Steaks, hot and cold sandwiches, an extensive choice of appetizers, decadent desserts, specialty pizzas and a Chinese menu. It also features giant plasma televisions. Take-out meals are available.

On the road to Hoover Dam, Railroad Pass has opened a new poker room and is giving away free t-shirts to all those who buy-in for $20 or more. The action at the three Texas Hold’em tables begins at noon every day.

In addition to opening the new poker room, Railroad Pass runs specials every week. On Senior Tuesday, 55 and older players get two-for-one buffets or two entrees for the price of one in the Iron Rail Café.

Finally, the Fremont Street Experience (FSE) has announced its party line-up for New Year’s Eve. Fifteen thousand revelers are expected to converge on the Fremont Street Experience for the Street Bash on Saturday, Dec. 31, from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets are $40 per person. The entertainment line up for the evening includes Cheap Trick, Gin Blossoms and the Spin Doctors. Fremont Street Experience guests will receive admission to all concerts, a special New Year’s Eve Viva Vision light and sound show and all the action on the five-city blocks that are vintage Las Vegas.
