A cerebral (gulp!) look at poker strategy

Imagine yourself at the final table of a high stakes game of Texas Hold’em. Seated around you are some of the best players in the world.

What would you give to be able to crawl inside the mind of a top, professional poker player, not only to feel the excitement of tournament play but see, hear and feel how winning decisions are made?

In a new video, "Final Table Poker With Phil Gordon," viewers can experience all of that and more by going inside the mind of a top professional as you play along with Phil Gordon.

From pre-flop play, flop, turn, river, bluffs, pot odds, and tells — all aspects of winning strategy are covered in the groundbreaking instructional DVD.

"My impression of the titles currently available on the subject of poker is that they are dry, visually uninteresting, and often even torturous to watch by even the most diehard of fans," Gordon said. "My goal was to take an entirely different approach to instructional videos by bringing an inventive, entertaining, and theatrical-quality approach to teaching the winning ways of Texas Hold’em.

"In the process, I’ve realized that the expert insight approach can transfer perfectly to almost any category," Gordon continued. "We see this as the first of many titles to come."

Gordon is certainly qualified to produce an instructional poker video. As a professional poker player, Gordon has won in excess of $1.3 million in tournament play and is one of only four multi-time winners on the World Poker Tour.

He is also an expert analyst and co-host of TV’s "Celebrity Poker Showdown." Gordon has also penned a strategy guide to no limit hold’em, Phil Gordon’s Little Green Book of No-Limit Hold’em, which was released last month.

After fifteen years of keeping notes on the things he’s learned, the greats he’s played with, and the celebrities he’s taught, Gordon has become adept at the role of both teacher and student, offering up insights and tips on how to think about poker and how to develop a singular style of play.
