Locals find freebies galore this month

December is always a great month for bargains in Las Vegas. Even more so if you’re a local and can take advantage of all the show specials and offers that become available exclusively for Las Vegans during the traditionally slower holiday season.

For example, if you’re a Las Vegas local and have never seen Mystere at TI (Treasure Island), this month is a great time to go! The hotel is offering 2-for-1 tickets for any show (7:30 or 10:30 p.m. nightly except Mondays and Tuesdays) for all regularly priced $75 or $95 seats! This special offer runs through Dec. 24 and there is a purchase limit of six tickets per person. Mystere also performs a matinee on Sundays at 4:30 p.m.

Next is the second annual Local’s Appreciation Week from "Lance Burton: Master Magician." Anyone with a Nevada I.D. can reserve tickets by calling (702) 730-7160 or visiting the theatre box-office in the Monte Carlo Resort & Casino. The $35 per ticket admission includes all taxes and other fees. This offer is good for all shows through Saturday, Dec. 10. The regular price for the show is $72.55 plus a $3 handling fee so the pre-holiday savings is his way of giving back to the community.

At the Rio, anyone can join in the free fun and catch the Holiday in the Sky Show. The famous Masquerade Show turns into a winter wonderland themed show through Dec. 25 with free performances every Sunday through Thursday every even hour from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. On Fridays and Saturdays they add an extra show at 7 p.m. You can also have your picture taken with the performers or even ride in a float during the shows for an extra charge or $12.95.

Until next time, eat well, play well, stay well.
