The weather outside might be frightful, but the holiday promotions in Colorado casinos are downright delightful.

Christmas, New Year’s or simply the month of December have become popular times for giveaways, contests, promotions and dining specials.

Here are just a few of them offered in Colorado gambling halls.

At Creekers Casino, they’re giving away $1,000 every Saturday in December, along with holiday gift baskets. Don’t miss out on double points on Tuesdays and triple points on Fridays.

Santa’s got a brand new bag at Bullwhackers in Black Hawk, and it’s filled with holiday cash and prizes. Sports fans will like the continuing Million Dollar Footbull Contest: just pick the most winning or most losing Sunday and Monday football games.

Win some extra holiday cash at Canyon Casino in Black Hawk this month. Simply earn entry tickets for every 100 points, with up to five entry tickets per day.

In addition to weekly drawings, there’s a special holiday bonus round in which lucky winners will take home prizes such as a flat panel plasma TV, mini-camcoder, digital camera, or even a PC notebook.

For New Year’s Eve, Canyon Casino is giving away $2006 at noon and midnight, along with party favors and champagne.

Christmas comes early at Fitzgeralds in Black Hawk, where casino players can win gifts on Dec. 21. You must earn 50 points while playing slots or tables and you could be one of 700 lucky recipients from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or one of 300 from 5 p.m. to closing.
