Boyd Gaming and its Coast Casinos subsidiary are set to christen their newest hotel-casino, South Coast, on Thursday.

Doors are set to open at 7 p.m. with a fireworks display.

The 660-room hotel will be augmented with a 640-room tower, currently under construction and scheduled to open in June.

Besides being the most upscale of the Coast properties, South Coast will feature a variety of amenities including a 64-lane bowling center, race and sports book, six restaurants, 16-screen movie theater and 600-seat bingo parlor.

There will also be a state-of-the-art, indoor/outdoor Equestrian Center, which has already garnered national attention from horse enthusiasts.

The South Coast’s 80,000-square-foot casino will offer all the popular games and machines found at other Coast casinos (Gold Coast, Orleans and Suncoast), as well as extensive exhibit, convention and banquet space.

South Coast is located near I-15 and I-215, about eight miles south Tropicana Blvd.
