 Tuesday, Jan. 2

Philadelphia at New Jersey: This is a great match-up between these two Atlantic Division leaders. The defending Stanley Cup champion Devils are again proving they’re the "Beast in the East." The Flyers are only a couple points behind the Devils. After a mediocre start to the season, they’re playing some of the best hockey in the league for new coach Bill Barber. With this in mind, Philadelphia is really the team to beat. Predicted score: Philadelphia 4-2.

Wednesday, Jan. 3

Calgary at San Jose: The Sharks are the third best team in the league and have played fewer home games than the two leaders. The Sharks rarely lose at home. This game should be no exception. Predicted score: San Jose 4-1.

Thursday, Jan. 4

Nashville at St. Louis: Here’s another mismatch. The Blues are the second best team in the league while sporting the best over-all home record. This game looks like free money, so if you like free money bet the Blues. Predicted score: St. Louis 6-1.

Friday, Jan. 5

Montreal at Pittsburgh: This is the Penguins’ fourth consecutive home game and their fourth game with Super Mario in the line-up. Lemieux said he wants a Stanley Cup championship ring on his finger. His teammates are excited about that possibility and they’re showing it. Predicted score: Pittsburgh 5-0.

Saturday, Jan. 6

Montreal at Ottawa: What can I say? The Canadians are the worst team in the league. They played the night before in the States and now have to cross the border, go through Customs and again play on the road. I’ve found over the years that this is the strongest play one can bet. Take the Senators and empty your wallet. Predicted score: Ottawa 4-1.
