Back in U.S. poker rooms

Yes, Carol, I know that you and Sarah were singing, "Why, Oh! Why do I love Paris?" as we packed for the next leg of our poker tour.

Next stop is New York and its not so open poker rooms. Yes, they do play a lot of poker in New York, but it is by invitation only as they are all private games. You know, folks, I cannot give you any report on these games.

But one of Sarah’s songs she sang in Paris was "Luck be a Lady Tonight," which features the line "The picking have been lush." So let’s just say I stayed lucky.

The players in Paris played as if they were double parked, but here in New York City they are double parked, and the poker players play as if they need to go move their cars before New York’s Finest come and tow them away.

I never like to talk about how much I win, but in Paris we arrived with five bags and left with six.

Now, it is true that that extra bag was needed to put all those Paris creations that the girls bought during their shopping spree in Paris.

This is just a little of why the girls love to go to Paris.

I won a lot of Euro’s and filled their pockets full! You girls went shopping till you almost dropped on the Champs Elysees, while poor old OK-J had to stay at the Aviation Club and worked poker.

Now, here in New York, we had lunch and the bill was a little high, but then I looked down and it said:

Servers Tip_________

Captains Tip_________

It’s the first time I have ever seen a spot for two different tips.

But I will have to say that the captain did ask me if I wanted a cup of coffee at the end of lunch, but he did not forget to add $4 more for that little cup of coffee.

So the girls are out shopping again, this time probably on Firth Avenue in New York City. No, they never get tired!

So I gave them another $1,000 and told them to have a good time.

But Sarah said, "Dad we may want more that just a hamburger." So I agreed to let them put the rest on the plastic card. I plan to win up at Niagara Falls next week at the Oklahoma Johnny Hale poker tournament I’ll be hosting.

Poker tip of the week

This tip is short and sweet. It is very simple, but if you folks follow this rule you can take the money home and count it there

If the other poker players are playing conservatively or tight, you should play loose.

If the other poker players are playing really loose and carefree, you should play conservatively.

Until next time remember to stay lucky.
