Ultimate showdown: Liddell-Couture one final time

The third time figures to settle the score when Chuck Liddell meets Randy Couture for the light heavyweight title in the featured bout of UFC 57 at Mandalay Bay on Saturday, Feb. 4.

Each fighter has one victory, with Liddell winning the first epic matchup by knockout. Couture came back to win the rematch.

This fight between two of the all-time greats in mixed martial arts is rumored to be the last for Couture, win or lose.

At press time, Liddell was a -210 favorite to regain his title from Couture, a +160 dog. The two champs are virtual equals in height and weight. Each is 6-foot-2 with Couture listed at 205 pounds, one more than Liddell.

The fight card will be held at the Islander Ballroom with tickets going for $50.

Mandalay Bay will also host closed circuit viewing of the Ultimate Fight Championship 57 with tickets available at the resort or by phoning (877) 632-7000.

The card includes three heavyweight bouts. Paul Buentello meets KO artist Gilbert Aldana, Jeff Monson will oppose Branden Lee Hinkle and Frank Mir faces Marcio Cruz.

The remainder of the UFC 57 show has Renato Sobral vs. Mike Van Arsdale, Alessio Sakara vs. Elvis Sinosic and Brandon Vera opposing Justin Eilers.

The Mandalay Bay doors open at 6:30 p.m. for Ultimate Fight Challenge 57 with the first bout scheduled for 7.
