Second only to the Super Bowl in betting action, the NCAA college basketball tournament — March Madness — kicks off this week with 64 teams on Thursday vying for the title of No. 1.
"This is not only a big time for us, it’s a fun time as well," said a sports book supervisor at Palace Station. "Can you imagine all the workplaces in town that are now printing out tournament brackets!"
Indeed, fans everywhere are marking their brackets, trying to predict which team will overcome the tourney’s sudden death format and make it to the Final Four.
The early favorites are Duke (3-1), Connecticut (7-2), Villanova (10-1), UCLA (12-1) and Memphis (18-1).
