Turning Stone branches out

The success of Turning Stone Casino Resort has opened the door for other ventures by its owners, the Oneida Nation of Indians.

The Oneida Nation’s Textile Design (OTD) printing company recently gained certification as a minority business enterprise by the regional certification organization and it has paid off in new clients with pretty impressive names — Time Warner, New Line Cinema and Mohawk Industries.

Oneida Textile Design has exclusive contracts with these companies for "corporate casual" apparel and promotional items.

On the entertainment front, comedian Louie Anderson takes the showroom spotlight on Feb. 16. Anderson is known for his self-deprecating humor about his large family. "My Dad never hit us when I was a kid," Anderson said in a typical display of his humor, "he carried a gun."

Turning Stone goes country on Feb. 22 with Aaron Tippin and his hit song, "Kiss This," taking the spotlight.
