More summer pool parties to enjoy on hot summer nights in Las Vegas! The Tropicana Resort & Casino introduces "Wet," a new pool party concept that is sure to be filled with fun and entertainment. Everyone 21 and older is welcome and admission is free. A live band performs every Saturday night from the island area in the pool and a disc jockey keeps the party going throughout the evening. Drink and food specials will be available, including 50-cent draft beers. All women are invited to enter a winner-takes-all $1,000 cash prize bikini contest. (Hey, what about me in my Speedo!)

Also, swimming and dancing is encouraged. For those people wanting to gamble, no need to leave the pool. The swim-up blackjack tables will be open. The parties run from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. through Sept. 2.

The Gold Rush and Magic Star Casinos in Henderson are serving a $5 prime rib dinner every Saturday and Sunday in June from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Jerry’s Nugget Casino in North Las Vegas is set to re-open the former Canal Street Café as the new Jerry’s Famous Coffee Shop this weekend. The futuristic-style restaurant will combine nostalgia with contemporary designs. Known as Googie style, the unique layout was influenced by the 50’s space-like architecture of structured shapes and extraordinary angles. The diner will accommodate 250 guests. Included in the restaurant’s updated menu are seven full pages of 140-plus entrée meals, 56 delectable desserts and 68 beverage items. Nine new burgers have been added along with extra menu categories of crepes, breakfast sandwiches and skillets, plus lighter dishes for those who prefer low-calorie, low-fat meals.

CineVegas will be held June 9-17 at the Brenden Theatres inside the Palms Casino Resort. The event is open to the public. There are seven different passes available, ranging from $50 to $500, which can be purchased online at www.cinevegas.com. The passes get the pass holder into different screenings and events throughout the festival. Individual movie tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the Brenden Theatres Box Office.
