WPT finds way to Mandalay

Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino throws its green visor into the ring by joining the World Poker Tour’s (WPT) roster of host casinos for a new event that will be staged as the second stop of the Season V calendar.

The Mandalay Bay Poker Championship will be held June 4-8 and will become the next big event on the WPT’s storied 17-stop tour.

The tour features exciting poker action at some of the most beautiful, elegant and highly regarded resorts and card rooms around the globe. In Season V, the WPT is expected to surpass its quarter billion dollar mark in prize money.

The entry fee for the Mandalay Bay Poker Championship is $10,000. Professional and amateur players can register at Mandalay Bay and also may earn a spot in the tournament by winning tournaments played at Mandalay Bay.

Satellites are underway and will continue through Thursday (June 1) and super-satellites will be played Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3. All tournaments begin at noon.

The WPT consists of 17 nationally televised poker events, filmed in casinos around the world, where finalists compete for multi-million dollar prize pools.
