Our free poker seminar at The Venetian on June 17 has attracted plenty of participants ”¦ thanks to everyone for signing up.

If you’re interested in attending, call GamingToday at (702) 798-1151 and ask Karen to register.

Of course, The Venetian is a great setting for any type of poker gathering. The room is huge, they’ve got a great staff and nice mix of games.

The Venetian also offers a nice variety of daily tournaments (of course, winning tournaments will be our topic on June 17), including morning and afternoon contests with buy-ins from $60 to $540, and evening tourneys with buy-ins of $180, $230 and $330.

In addition to The Venetian, there are new poker rooms opening up all over Las Vegas.

Fiesta Rancho, for instance, just opened a cozy five-table poker room adjacent to the race and sports book. It also offers daily no limit hold’em tournaments and the room has seating for smoking and non-smoking players.

The Aladdin, which is building a beautiful new poker room, also features an affordable mix of daily tournaments, including $50 and $60 buy-ins during the week and $110 tourneys on Saturday. For you night owls, the Aladdin also has a graveyard tourney for $60.

The Golden Nugget, as part of its massive renovation, is also nearly set to unveil its new poker room. Judging what Tilman Fertitta has already done with his new casino, this should be a showplace. The Nugget will also open an expanded race and sports book later this summer.
