While this years Super Bowl between the Baltimore Ravens and New York Giants may be low scoring and boring for some, there are plenty of Super Bowl parties in Las Vegas to spice up the game.
The three things people usually remember about a Super Bowl are who won, how much money they won (or lost), and where they watched it. While you have no control of the first two, you can control your own destiny by where you watch it.
Heres a list of area Super Bowl parties open to the public.
Suncoast: There will be two parties. One is in the Grand Ballroom. Cost is $35 per person, which includes a stadium buffet and drinks. The party includes ten $1,000 drawings. The other is in the showroom. It costs $20 per person, which includes hot dogs, popcorn and drinks. The party includes a $5,000 giveaway. Both parties will feature the Budweiser Girls. Doors open at 2 p.m.
Buffalo Bills, Whiskey Petes, Primm Valley: These three free parties in Primm, at the state line, will feature chances to win prizes including free room packages, rounds of golf, cash, and autographed sports memorabilia. "Papa" Joe Chevalier, One-on-One Sports nationally syndicated radio broadcaster, will host parties. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.
Arizona Charlies West: The Super Bowl pass package includes a commemorative T-shirt; admission to the Super Bowl party in Diamond Maes banquet room and the Wild West Buffet; and a drawing ticket for cash and sports memorabilia and other prizes. A $50 bet is required. There also will be a party in the Naughty Ladies Saloon. The game will be shown on big-screen TV. Hot dogs and Budweiser draft will be available for $1 along with free popcorn. Football Hall of Famer Ollie Matson will be the special guest. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.
Arizona Charlies East: A casino-wide Super Bowl party begins at 1:30 p.m. Those placing a $50 minimum straight bet or $20 parlay bet will receive a party coupon pack (limit one per person). The party coupon pack includes two coupons for food from a stadium-style menu; two coupons for Miller Draft beer; and a drawing ticket to win sports memorabilia, cash and other prizes during the game. Party coupon packs also can be purchased for $5 at the casino cage.
Sahara: The hotel will host two parties. One party is in the Sahara Theater and will be hosted by Mark and Mercedes from KMXB-FM 94.1. It will feature a super-screen TV, stadium food and draft beer. A satellite betting station will be provided. Chips and popcorn will be offered for 50 cents; hot dogs, nachos and beer nuts for 75 cents; corn dogs for $1. The party will also feature certificates, passes to SPEED The Ride, Steve Wyrick show tickets, T-shirts and other merchandise. Tickets are $19.95. This party starts at 2:30 p.m. The other party, in the Golden Room, begins at 2 p.m. Tickets are $50. There will be stadium-style food, an open bar, a satellite sports book and big screen TVs.
Stratosphere Tower: The party is in the Broadway Showroom. There will stadium-style food and beverage available with a special appearance by Daryle "The Mad Bomber" Lamonica and the San Diego Chargers cheerleaders. Photos with Lamonica and the Chargers cheerleaders will be available for purchase. There also will be drawings for Super Bowl merchandise as well as satellite betting available in the showroom. Tickets are $50. Doors open 2 p.m.
Jerrys Nugget: The partys in the sports book. With $40 bet, you get two drink tickets and a food ticket. There will be drawings for memorabilia. Admission is free. Doors open at 3 p.m.
Mandalay Bay: The House of Blues will host a tailgate party at 2 p.m. Tickets are $30 and $50, which includes a beer and buffet.
Rio: There will be two free parties. One is in the Copacabana Showroom. Food and beverages will be sold. Doors open at 1 p.m. The other is in the Rio Bamba Lounge. Hot dogs will be sold.
Ballys: Tickets are $50, which includes stadium-style food and drinks. The party also features satellite betting booths. Doors open at 2 p.m.
Terribles: There will be drawings and giveaways in the sports book at halftime and an hour after the game. There is no charge.
Ellis Island: Tickets, $10 per person, will be sold at noon on game day. Doors open at 2 p.m. Party features all you can eat and all the Ellis Island Beer you can drink. There will be super drawings. There will be one Ellis Islands Super Drawing winner of 500,000 Super Bowl points, one hour after completion of game.
Riviera: Cost is $115 per person, which includes a gourmet buffet, unlimited drinks, gift packs, an in-house halftime show with marching band, and drawings for autographed memorabilia. Appearing will be by Gale Sayers, Ben Davidson, Roman Gabriel, Wendell Tyler and the St. Louis Rams cheerleaders. Private "skyboxes" are available for an additional $500. Doors open 1 p.m.
San Remo: Party is free. Guests receive drawing tickets for with every drink and food purchase. Appearances are by the California Hardbodies. Doors open 1:30 p.m.
Silverton: Party will be in the Silverton Showroom. Tickets are $10, which includes a stadium buffet and a chance to win prizes. Doors open 3 p.m.
Luxor: Cost is $24.95 per person, which includes a commemorative Super Bowl hat. Doors open at 1 p.m. The game will be shown on a 30 x 60-foot screen in the Luxor Theater. Showgirls from "Midnight Fantasy" will be there
Fiesta: Tickets are $20 and includes one beer and unlimited pizza in Roxys. Doors open 2:30 p.m. Big screen TVs available.
Main Street Station: There will be two parties. One in the Pullman Grille costs $60 per person. That includes a gourmet buffet in an upscale cigar-friendly atmosphere. RSVP needed. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. The other, in the Triple 7 Restaurant & Brewery costs $40 per person. That includes a tailgate buffet and all-you-can-drink microbrews. RSVP needed. (Its $50 at door if space is available). Doors open 2:30 p.m.
MGM Grand: In the EFX Theatre, tickets are $40 per person. That includes a buffet, two drinks, tax and gratuity. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.
The Orleans: There will be two parties, in the Mardi Gras Ballroom and the Orleans Showroom. For either party, cost is $35 per person, which includes a buffet. Doors open at 2 p.m.
Plaza: The party will be in the Triple Crown Ballroom and cost is $25. There is free beer with a $10 wager voucher and there will be giveaways. Doors open at noon.
Imperial Palace: Cost is $40 and is in the Royal Halls. Party will include 13 big screens, buffet, free draft beer, commemorative T-shirt, door prizes and wagering window. There also will be a private party featuring a 30-foot screen with official merchandise, buffet, door prizes and wagering window.
The Regent Las Vegas: Cost is $25 per person, which includes stadium-style food, beer and a chance to win cash prizes. Everyone receives a free Regent/Super Bowl cap upon entry. All $10 parlay card wagers rate a free T-shirt.
Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas: In Henderson, the party will be in the Arabesque Lobby lounge. Cost is $149. There will be drink specials and stadium food. The package also includes lakeview accommodations and a one-hour spa treatment.
Tropicana: Cost is $60 per person, which includes drinks, stadium food and a commemorative gift. Game is on two big-screen TVs. Doors open at 2 p.m.
Vacation Village: Kookoos Lounge will have a free casino-wide Super Bowl party hosted by KWNR-FM 95.5 personality "Stunt Runt." There will be big screen viewing, free parlay card, free snacks and 75-cent Budweiser.
The Venetian: Tickets are $75, which includes unlimited food, open bar and viewing on an 18 x 32-foot digital screen. Doors open at 2 p.m.
Aladdin: Cost is $15 per person. The party is in the Theatre for the Performing Arts. Food, beer and memorabilia will be sold. Doors open at 1 p.m.
The Beach: The KOMP-FM 92.3 Super Bowl Sunday Party & Truck Giveaway is free. Food and drink specials are available, plus a bikini-clad halftime special. Drinks served by the Beachs Bikini Shot Waitresses. Doors open at noon.
Excalibur: There will be two parties. One, in the Minstrel Lounge, costs $26.46 per person. That includes a Super Bowl T-shirt, mug, party favors and two drink tickets. The other, in Merlins Theater, costs $61.85 per person and includes Super Bowl T-shirt, buffet-style food, party favors and four drink tickets. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. for both parties.
Fremont Street Experience: Party is free with pre-game merchandise giveaways. The Miller Girls will be there. KKLZ-FM 96.3 and STAR-FM 105.5 will broadcast live.
Four Queens: Cost is $80 and includes all-you-can-east stadium cuisine, open bar, and a Super Bowl hat and T-shirt. There will be appearances by the San Diego Chargers cheerleaders, Buffalo Bills cheerleaders and former players Fred Bilentikoff and Cedrick Hardman. Memorabilia will be raffled off. Doors open at 2 p.m.
Gold Coast: Cost is $15 per person (reserved seating), which includes all-you-can eat hot dogs, pizza, popcorn and two draft beers. Doors open at 2 p.m.
Hard Rock: There will be two parties, in The Joint and in Festive Hall. Both are $60 per person, which includes food and drinks. Doors open at 2 p.m.
Mulligans Landing: The free party will feature buffet and drink specials. There will be giveaways of NFL and bar merchandise.
Eureka (Mesquite): Therell be giveaways at an open party in the Wild Cactus Lounge and Scorpion Sports Bar. Food specials will include two hot dogs for $1; hot wings for $1, and steak sandwiches for $2.
Oasis (Mesquite): Customers at the Pizza Pub party get raffle tickets with each food and beverage purchase. A Kurt Warner autographed football will be given away.
PT Mining Co.: The first 200 people attending the free party get commemorative T-shirts. A free buffet is available at 2:30 p.m. The Armchair Quarterback Challenge starts 2 p.m.
Skinny Dugans: Cost is $25, which includes a stadium-style buffet and drinks. Doors open 2:30 p.m.
