Kornstein added to Cash System directors’ board

Don Kornstein, who headed the former Jackpot Enterprises Inc. during the 1990’s, has been named to the board of directors of Cash Systems, Inc. (CKNN).

In recent years, Kornstein, 54, has been the managing member of Alpine Advisors LLC, a financial consulting firm. But from 1994 to 2000, he was President and CEO of the publicly-traded Jackpot Enterprises Inc., whose trading symbol was "J".

Jackpot Enterprises had one of the largest slots routes in Nevada, servicing 4,075 video poker and other gaming machines in 419 locations. The company also operated two small casinos in Nevada.

Prior to joining Jackpot Enterprises, Kornstein spent 17 years as an investment banker at Bear, Stearns & Co where he served as head of the firm’s gaming industry practice.

Between 2003 and 2005, Kornstein was a member of the board of directors of Shuffle Master Inc. (SHFL).

MGM MIRAGE Inc. (MGM) announced the appointment of Richard Vosburgh as senior vice president of human resources for Mirage Resorts. His duties will include overseeing the human resources needs at Project CityCenter, the $7 billion project being undertaken on the Las Vegas Strip.

In another appointment, MGM MIRAGE said it had promoted Miriam Hammond to senior vice president of human resources for the MGM Grand Resorts properties.

Todd D. Jordan, a senior analyst at Ardsley Partners has joined the board of directors of Shuffle Master Inc.

Ardsley Partners is a Connecticut-based hedge fund covering various consumer related sectors.
