Shriners benefit from Lance’s magic

Support a good cause, see a good show — all at a great reduced price. For the ninth consecutive year, Lance Burton & Friends" will again raise funds for The Shriners. Ticket prices are $35 and $28.50. On Sunday, July 30 the Lance Burton Theatre at the Monte Carlo will open at 3 p.m. and the special show will begin at 4 p.m. Get your tickets by calling the Zelzah Shrine at 702-382-5554.

Check out the free 2006 Gaming Life Expo at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino this week starting Thursday, July 27 and running through Monday, Aug. 31. Coinciding with the $100 Million World Series of Poker (WSOP) tournament scheduled to crown a new champion on Aug. 10, the Rio will host the Expo to offer fans and players the chance to meet with vendors, speakers and players from around the world. The Expo, which takes place during the first rounds of the $10,000 buy-in main event of the WSOP, will be held in the Rio Pavilion. Expo hours are 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. July 27-30, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, July 31. Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. sponsors the show, which is free and open to the public. Bring those cell phone cameras. You may just spot a legend in the making!

Poker Palace in North Las Vegas is serving a 12 oz. prime rib dinner in Maddy’s Paddys Café for $5.99 this month, through July 31. Serving hours are 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly.
