Not much going on in the books this past week as everyone is getting geared up for football with contest and parlay cards on the horizon.
This is the last week of the NFL preseason and all I can say is thank God! This is also the first week of the college season and there are several games that I do like (see page 14) and hope that I can start off on a winning note. The final NFL tune-up games are usually the most volatile. Nobody really knows what to expect.
I do have just a few plays to take a shot with. Good luck to all this year. We here at GT will try our best to pass along winning plays.
Thursday, Aug. 31
Bills +3½ at Lions (35): Betting against the Bills has been a good money maker so far and I don’t see anything changing in this game. I look for the Lions to open it all up here and crush Buffalo in front of a sold out Ford Field. LIONS, OVER.
Vikings +7 at Cowboys (34½): The Cowboys defense has been spectacular in first three games, allowing 3, 7, and 7. The starters have given up zip. For some unknown reason, I think ”˜under’ looks too easy. I will do a George here and go against the obvious. OVER.
Broncos +2½ at Cards (36½): Denver let me down this past Sunday, but I do think I will recoup my loss in this game. The Broncos are 5-1 ATS in the last game of pre-season the past six years. BRONCOS.
Raiders +3 at Seahawks (36½): Raiders look to end the preseason perfect at 5-0 with a win here. Their defense is playing like they are on a mission. RAIDERS.
Friday, Sept. 1
Titans NL at Packers (NT): I see very little offense in this game. Will just sit back, avoid watching it on TV and hope for a low score. UNDER.
Eagles +4½ at Jets (33½): This will be my last bet of the 2006 preseason and I will make it a good one. Just don’t see Philly taking any risk here. Jets have nothing to lose and think they will go all out to get a win. BEST BET: JETS.
