Cannery Casino & Hotel will celebrate its $45 million expansion with a grand opening gala on Tuesday (October 3) from 4 to 8 p.m.

To celebrate the completion, Cannery patrons will receive free cake, champagne, samples of Vino’s pizza, Galaxy Movie Theatre’s real buttered popcorn and T-shirts in the new corridor which includes Vino’s, the poker room, race and sports book and Galaxy Movie Theatres.

The $45 million expansion began in August 2004 with phase one that included a five-story covered garage with 1,903 parking spaces.

In addition, phase one also consisted of 15,000 square feet of new space — increasing the slot floor by more than 35 percent with the addition of more than 500 slot/video poker machines.

New machines range in denominations from one cent to one dollar, and include such popular games as Star Wars, One-Cent Megabucks, Fort Knox, Three Way Action Poker, and 20 Card Keno, to name a few.

The phase two build-out totals 96,400 square feet with Galaxy Movie Theatres offering 14 screens with DLP Cinema technology and capacities ranging from 140 to 575 patrons.

The expansion also included Vino’s Italian Ristorante and Deli, a 300 capacity bingo room, a 14-table poker room and a 129-seat race and sports book.

Cannery Casino Resorts, LLC, owns and operates the Cannery in North Las Vegas, and operates the Rampart in Summerlin.
