Players receiving plenty of show discounts

More show discounts are available for Las Vegas locals this month including for shows Jubilee! at Bally’s and Les Folies Bergère at the

Tropicana. As part of its 25th anniversary celebrations, Jubilee! is offering a special $25 ticket price to Nevada residents this month (regular ticket prices normally start at $65). The Folies at the Tropicana is offering 2-for1 tickets during October. A valid Nevada ID must be presented at the box office when purchasing tickets for either of the shows.

Mentioned in last week’s column, the Las Vegas locals discount for the Hawaiian Luaus at Imperial Palace will expire Oct. 28, the last show date for this season. Shows are held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Las Vegas locals can get $5 off general admission or $10 off VIP admission to the outdoor dinner shows when you present a valid local ID.

Later this month, the Imperial Palace will host its Annual "Scary-Okee" party. For the third straight Halloween, DJ "Rotten Rusty" Varney will be the host of "Scary-Okee," a karaoke party guaranteed to bring out your inner ghoul. Beginning at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, take center stage for "Black Magic Woman" and while you’re there, dance a little "Monster Mash." In addition to eerie party music, the devilishly spooky serenade features a "wheel of terror," a bloodcurdling air guitar contest and dancing.

Belting out those terrifying tunes will work up quite a thirst, so the IP’s master bartenders have concocted creepy cocktails — among them vampire kisses, floating eyeballs, zombies, purple people eaters and a shooter called a brain hemorrhage. Who knows what evil lurks in these libations. Admission is free and costumes are optional.

The Cannery completed yet another expansion opening last week. The new expansion includes a unique new Italian restaurant concept called Vino’s Italian Ristorante and Deli. The restaurant seats 150 patrons and includes a walk-up deli counter for pizza slices and deli sandwiches. Vino’s Ristorante is open Sunday through Tuesday from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4:30 to 10 p.m. The menu features "You’re the Chef," a design-your-own pasta dinner, homemade Lasagna Bolognese, Classic Cioppino and Chicken Vesuvio, to name a few. Vino’s Italian Deli opens daily at 11 a.m. featuring homemade pizzas with the finest cheeses and fresh ingredients.
