Give me 2 minutes and
I'll make it right!

Age has dulled my senses, but there are some things I just don’t understand.

The government spends all this money to fly a sex offender business class to the U.S. to face murder charges that he admits to but really didn’t do, and now they just let him go because they can’t convict him of anything.

This same government just passed a law to prohibit someone from sitting at home playing poker on his PC. They don’t care about child molesters picking up kids on the web, but we can’t sit home and play poker or bet a game on line.

I don’t get it! Are they just upset because they can’t find a way to get hold of that gambling money? Could it be all about money or is the government just worried about us little guys losing are cash gambling?

Just when I thought I saw it all watching NFL football, something new happens that I didn’t know. This past Sunday night there was a TD review, but the official’s TV screen malfunctioned and he could not watch all the angles of the play. So after two minutes he says the play on the field stands because the two minute rule has run out.

So even though he didn’t get to see the play, he had to go with the call on the field since the two minutes ran out. Now did you know that? I didn’t.

Now on with this week’s games.

NCAA

Thursday, Oct. 12

Va Tech -3 at BC: I want no part of VT, which is way overrated and somehow the favorite at Boston College. BC owns wins over Clemson and BYU. The only loss was 17-15 at NC State. Look for the Eagles to avenge last year’s 30-10 trouncing. BC.

Army +5 at Conn: Huskies not much this year. Army has one of its better teams and a great shot at win and cover. Cadets in triple revenge mood after getting hammered by UConn three straight years. ARMY.

Missouri -2 ½ at Texas A&M: Mizzu 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS, while the Aggies were life and death to get late win at Kansas last week. A&M lost to Texas Tech at home 31-27 while Missouri crushed TT 38-21 at Texas Tech. Number looks cheap here as the Tigers are the better team. MISSOURI.

Tulsa -3 at ECU: The Pirates in big revenge game after getting crushed last year by the Golden Hurricane, 45-13. East Carolina is 5-0 ATS and has solid efforts against WVU (27-10 loss) and Navy losing (28-23 setback). Look for another good showing and cover. ECU.

Marshall +5½ at SMU: The Thundering Herd not doing much thundering this year with only one win (Hofstra) and are 0-4 both ATS and SU against board teams. SMU much improved and playing good ball. The Mustangs have covered last three games and should be able to get big win and cover here. SMU.

Florida +2 at Auburn: Tigers may be in nasty mood after losing to Arkansas 27-10 at home last week as a 16 point favorite. Still, I just don’t believe they are good enough or have the offensive power to stop juggernaut Florida. Those Gators went into Tennessee and got a win. Believe me, the Vols are better than Auburn. The wrong favorite here so just take UF on the money line and go to the bank. FLORIDA.

UCLA +10½ at Oregon (55½): The Bruins have played five straight ”˜under’ games and have a super defense. This total looks way too high so I will take the points and defense in game that looks much closer than the line indicates. UCLA / UNDER.

Hawaii -5½ at Fresno St: Is this game a trap? If so I am going to fall prey. Fresno just outright stinks! Losing to Utah State just put the nail in their coffin. I like the Bows here and hope to make a double bet if the early games work out. HAWAII.

Utah St +13 ½ at San Jose St: Now the other side of the coin. The Aggies have been celebrating all week with initial win of the year. The victory came against a Fresno State team that defeated them 70-21 and 53-21 in the only two meetings. I just may have to go all in on the host Spartans, who lost 24-17 to Utah State last season in Logan. SAN JOSE ST. BEST BET.

NFL

Sunday, Oct. 15

(If you’re smart, bet against these games)

Titans +9 ½, Falcons -3, Eagles -3, Jets -2½, STEELERS -6½ (best bet), Broncos -15½, Monday: Bears -10½
