Joe Awada, founder and president of Gaming Entertainment Inc., has been designing games for nearly 20 years, with many of his creations in casino pits throughout the world. This year he expects to introduce several games and variations that already have casino operators buzzing.

With his Double Down Baccarat, Awada hopes to inject an element of decision-making into the classic game.

"Players will have a new-found excitement because of the increased action — nearly every hand will offer the option to double down," Awada said.

Another new game, Push You Win Blackjack, should stimulate interest in blackjack, which has been fading in recent years, and Duki 4 Poker will piggyback the popularity of casino poker.

Awada has also found a way to speed up pai gow poker with Mini Pai Gow Poker, which is simpler and easier to play than its older casino cousin.

Over the course of the next year, Awada said, Gaming Entertainment will continue to upgrade and expand its product line.

"We’re constantly improving products and concepts," he said. "Next year, we will add an element of high technology to our games. That should be pretty exciting."
