Suns set back as #1

Feb 6, 2007 6:40 AM

I was set to make Phoenix the favorite to win the NBA Title after its must-needed home win over San Antonio. Then, the Suns lost to Utah again and I’m open to suggestion.

Dallas has all season played the most consistent basketball. The West is still best, but Gilbert Arenas and Washington is a curiosity in the East. So is Toronto, which is a totally different team with Chris Bosh. Miami is waiting until the playoffs. My win total is as well.

WEDNESDAY

Grizzlies at Mavs: Dallas is just 1-4 ATS in its last five, including a 1-point win last week over the lowly Preacher Avery Johnson will remind the boys of that. Plus, this isn’t at Memphis. MAVS.

Clippers at Cavs: Clips played in New York the night before and should wear down in the fourth. That’s Lebron Time. CAVS.

THURSDAY

Lakers at Pistons: The Lakers have had two full days off to prepare for this TNT national game with Detroit. That’s a big edge to a West Coast team on a long road trip. Kobe could get 50. LAKERS.

Bulls at Kings: Charles Barkley asked why this game was the second half of the TNT twinbill. Guess the Maloofs need more air time. Instead, Ben Gordon lights it up late for Chicago. BULLS.

FRIDAY

Lakers at Raptors: Here is where the schedule catches up with the Lakers. Chris Bosh has been huge since return. RAPTORS.

SATURDAY

Knicks at Jazz: NY gets a taste of team basketball. JAZZ.
