Rumors are hot about a Jason Kidd deal from New Jersey to either Cleveland or LA Lakers. I can’t see the Cavs having enough to offer the Nets, but the Lakers are another story.
If I were the Nets GM, I’d make that deal now while Jason still has peak value in the NBA. New Jersey is desperate for front court help, having no legitimate center or low post player with Krstic hurt. My deal would be Kidd to the Lakers for Lamar Odom, Kwame Brown and Brian Cook. A Kidd-Kobe backcourt will be killer — a return to the Showtime days at the Forum with Magic, Coop and Worthy.
Mavericks at Bucks: Milwaukee has been dreadful with Michael Redd out. Dallas on a seven-game win streak, including three straight covers. We hope Mavs are less than a 10-point favorite. DALLAS.
Knicks at Lakers: Knicks are 11-3-1 ATS in their last 15 and off a tough two-point loss at Utah. Lakers just back from long roadie. NY.
Grizzlies at Pacers: Memphis is off double-digit road losses to San Antonio and New Orleans. Pacers won by 6 at Memphis. INDIANA.
Suns at Sonics: Chances are Steve Nash will sit out another game for the Suns. Sonics can put up points with Allen and Lewis. SEATTLE.
Hawks at Clippers: Atlanta has won 6 in a row on the road, longest streak in 10 years. Clips, like Lakers, off long roadie. ATLANTA.
Cavs at Lakers: The Lakers should be back in the groove, while the Lebrons are probably looking forward to the break. LAKERS.
