NHL loved Leafs-Habs

In Canada, nothing comes bigger than Leafs-Canadiens.

Such was the case Saturday in Toronto, where for the first time in the 90-year history of this epic rivalry, a playoff berth was at stake for each.

Toronto edged Montreal 6-5 in a thriller, only to be jumped in the standings. From the dead, the Islanders won four in a row to take the 8 spot. Incredible.

VS network will be airing most of the Stanley Cup playoff games, starting with the first round matchups Wednesday.

Pens at Sens: Pittsburgh’s great offense against Ottawa’s penchant for choking. A no-brainer. PITTSBURGH.

Stars at Canucks: Canucks one of the hottest teams down the stretch. VANCOUVER.

Rangers at Thrashers: Old vs. new. ATLANTA.
