Add NCAA Lacrosse to the growing list of sports beginning to see major coverage in Las Vegas books. "You see it this week on ESPN and it’s fun to watch," said John Avello, director of race and sports operations at Wynn Las Vegas. "One of our people went to Johns Hopkins, which has been a lacrosse power for year. We felt the interest was there to put it on the board and we have received a very favorable response in betting."

Duke opened as the NCAA favorite at 6/5, followed by Virginia

at 9/5, Cornell at 4/1 and the Baltimore-based Hopkins at 6/1. The NCAAs will continue through the championship game Monday, May 28 in Baltimore. Other top teams included Maryland (15/1), Princeton (15/1) and UNC (22/1).
