Winning wagers in baseball have never been better

It has been a huge year for streaks, both good and bad in major league baseball. That’s a large reason why the betting handle is up substantially over a year ago at this time.

Paitence and money management is huge in baseball, which I firmly believe is the best among the major sports to make a profit.

Take the Phillies for example. An injury to Chase Utley, damaging as it is, has not made a difference. In fact, the Phils went on to sweep the series with Pittsburgh without the All Star second baseman.

Randy Johnson is done for the year after more back surgery was required. No matter. The D’backs just keep winning games in their final at-bat and are on the verge of taking over the NL West lead.

Colorado is an awesome home team as the Dodgers found out this past week. And, Baltimore keeps finding ways to beat the Yankees with its fine pitching.

Just keep watching. The values are there for the taking.

Rangers at Indians: Cleveland just wins when Paul Byrd pitches. That’s all that counts. INDIANS.

Royals at Twins: Bannister at 7-6 with 3.42 ERA has been a nice surprise for improving KC. ROYALS.

Angels at M’s: King Felix vs Jered Weaver is decidedly Seattle. M’s.

Astros at Braves: Atlanta boosted with 1B Teixeira aboard. OVER.

Last week: 6-1.

Season: 78-54 (59.1)
