If I stopped now I could be 100 percent winners in the NFL preseason, but we all know that will not be the case.

It all starts to hit the fan with a full schedule of games this week, starting this Thursday and ending with a good doubleheader Monday, August 13.

Thursday, Aug. 9

Bengals +2 at Lions (36): Cincy should have enough players out of jail to field a full team. The Lions want to get off on the right toe in season opener under second year HC Rod Marinelli. LIONS.

Colts +4 at Cowboys (36): Dungy teams have been horrible (1-8 SU, 2-7 ATS) in preseason, treating these games as workouts. The crowd will be up to beat the champs. COWBOYS.

Friday, Aug 10

Falcons +3½ at NY Jets (33): Atlanta will try to play hard and get past all the distractions. Jets were 1-3 in preseason 2006. FALCONS.

Patriots +1 at Bucs (34): At one time the Pats were gold in the preseason, but have gone 5-6-1 the last three years. TB has a QB battle and should come out playing for keeps. BUCS.

Bills +5½ at Saints (35½): Saints back in just five days after losing to the Steelers in Hall of Fame 20-7. Bills 2-0 as a dog in preseason last year. BILLS.

Rams +2½ at Vikings (36): Rams were 0-4 ATS last year in preseason. The Vikes were 3-1 ATS with all but one below the posted total. VIKES, UNDER.

Saturday, Aug. 11

Packers +6 at Steelers (35½): I’ll stay with Pittsburgh in this spot, playing in front of the Steeltown hard core in a sold out rousing stadium. STEELERS.

Jags +1½ at Dolphins (32½): Jags have gone 7-2 as a dog in last nine preseason matchups. JAGS.

Chiefs +3 at Browns (36): Should be a good defensive game. BROWNS, UNDER.

Skins +3 at Titans (35½): Redskins went 0-4 SU / ATS in preseason last year and won’t be much better in ’07.’ Titans have enough here even with Vince Young mostly sitting. TITANS.

Panthers +1 at Giants (35½): Two very good teams in preseason. The Panthers were 4-0 SU last year, but 2-2 ATS. That tough defense yielded only 12 points. The Giants are 7-1 both SU and ATS in their last eight preseason games. GIANTS, UNDER.

Bears -1½ at Texans (33): You won’t see much of Grossman. The Texans went 3-1 SU and 3-0-1 ATS last year under HC Kubiak. Expect same effort. TEXANS.

Cards +2½ at Raiders (34½): Both teams with new head coaches and will want to play strong. Edge to Arizona QBs. CARDS.

Sunday, August 12

S’hawks +3½ at Chargers (36½): You won’t see LT running or catching any balls. San Diego HC Norv Turner may be a little careful in first test. Seahawks 4-1 as a dog in last 5 preseason. BEST BET: SEAHAWKS.

Monday, Aug. 13

Eagles +3 at Ravens (31): Both good in preseason. Eagles have gone 10-6 as a dog. Total opened 34 and promptly was bet down to 31½. EAGLES, UNDER.

Broncos +2½ at 49ers (35): Very even betting game for the books. Broncos 18-8-1 ATS under Shanahan in last seven years, including 10-3 on the road and 7-1 as a dog. The 49ers were 4-0 SU and ATS last year. 49ERS.

FYI: Among the contests sprouting all over the city is one of my favorites, the freebee at Brando’s restaurant and bars. The pizza is great. My niece Connie Saber won this contest last year so stop by any of the Brandos spots on Blue Diamond Road and off Industrial near Circus Circus and the former Stardust.

At the Blue Diamond site, say hi to Terri Clark, the #1 Bartender in Vegas. Terri is the aunt of late NASCAR driver Spencer Clark, who perished in a race accident. Terri is sponsoring a Hold’em tournament at Hard Rock with proceeds going to help Kids Foundation. Charlie, you better get over to the Rock and take your best shot.
