Using your slot club points to pay for meals is standard "on the cheap" way of life for many gamblers in Las Vegas. The deals are even sweeter when the casinos offer special incentives and discount points to earn your meals.

Station Casinos have a new buffet promotion running through Aug. 31. Earn 200 Boarding Pass Points and receive a free breakfast buffet, 400 points for a free lunch buffet and/or 600 points for a free dinner or brunch buffet. The offer is not available on Saturdays. Customers keep the earned points too and you may earn up to two buffets per day. The promotion is available at Santa Fe, Texas, Palace, Sunset, Boulder, Red Rock and Green Valley Ranch. See the Rewards Center at any participating casino for complete details.

"Pay with your Points" discounts are available at the Orleans every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in August. Use your Club Coast points to pay for your meals and receive 75% off at the French Market Buffet and 50% off all meals at Canal Street, the Courtyard Café, Don Miguel’s, the Prime Rib Loft and Big Al’s Oyster Bar.

Suncoast will also allow you to "Pay with your Points" and save up to 75% at their participating restaurants on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 24 through Aug. 26. They will also be awarding double points for your play during the same days.

An all-new LA Comedy Club has opened at Palace Station. The LA Comedy Club is now open nightly and features two comedians, both of headlining caliber, in The Showroom at Palace Station. The LA Comedy Club hosts two hour-long shows nightly, at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. in the intimate 150-seat venue at Palace Station. Tickets are $24.95 each and include either two free drinks inside the showroom or a meal at the Palace Station Feast Buffet that must be redeemed within seven days of purchase date. The featured comedians will alternate every one to two weeks, splitting their time on stage equally. Tickets are available for purchase by calling (702) 574-5300, online at www.palacestation.com or at the Palace Station Box Office.

Stay in tune with Las Vegas. "Lunchtime With Ira, Live from the Las Vegas Hilton," a Television-Radio-Internet show that normally broadcasts from the Hilton’s Shimmer Cabaret, is on its weekly "Vegas Summer Tour" around the city. Next week’s show broadcasts from a monorail train! The show airs locally on Clark County Television (CCTV), Cox Cable Channel 4; worldwide on WatchitVegas.com; and archived and podcast on lvhilton.com.

Until next time, eat well, play well and stay well!
