How is Kimstill pitching!

Approaching the final 20 games of the season, all the divisional drama is in the National League.

We always like to bet on teams that need to win, believing they will be more focused and less likely to play inexperienced players just up from the minors. Hey, it’s not often we have a chance to finish around 60 percent winners for the season.

Wednesday, Sept. 12

Nationals at Marlins: Just how many lives does Byung-Hyun Kim have? He still gives up too many runs. Joel Hanrahan is a respectable 4-3 this year. Both teams playing out the string, but the Nats have not quit. NATS.

Cards at Reds: One of our favorites, Adam Wainwright, has a 1.93 ERA in his last three starts for the Cardinals. Bronson Arroyo is 2-5 lifetime against St. Louis. CARDS.

Padres at Dodgers: Justin Germano is 0-3 this year against LA. Derek Lowe has always been a big-game pitcher and every matchup with these two NL West rivals is important. DODGERS.

D’backs at Giants: Brandon Webb is going after another Cy Young. He’s 15-10 with a fine 2.91 ERA. Jonathan Sanchez (1-3, 5.06) will be a huge dog even though the game is in San Francisco. D’BACKS.

Brewers at Pirates: The Bucs have a potential star in Tom Gorzalanny, who is going for his 15th win. Milwaukee is 0-2 against Gorzelanny. Pittsburgh in the role of spoiler can play loose. PIRATES.

Last week: 4-3

Season: 106-68 (60.9%)
